Coin Grading FAQs
The Sheldon Scale is a 1-70 numerical grading system for coins, developed by Dr. William Sheldon in 1949. Grades 1-58 indicate circulated coins (Poor to About Uncirculated). Grades 60-70 indicate uncirculated or proof coins (Mint State/Proof). Higher numbers mean better condition and typically higher value.
